I bought this guy a few days ago. The label on the tank said double red, but this guy has no red marks anywhere, just yellow and black. So I was wondering if he will get redder or just stay yellow.

I don't know apistos well, so I can't help you there. But he is quite a looker, even if he is yellow instead of red. Nice!
they come in several color variations.. looks like double red to me ,,, colors might be off a hair..

My cac double red looks more orangy-yellow too. Some from the same group had better color. Try some color enhancing foods, color flakes or bits, bloodworms...& maybe a female to color up for.
He's starting to color up I think, maybe because of the female on the lower left corner. At least I think its a female.
