Apistogramma cacautoides "orange" and some others

I like the look of the apistos. What are they like as far as personality goes? Would they do well with a couple of severums in my 75 gal setup? Still debating on what fish to have.

They are bottom dwellers mainly, they need a cave or two. They are dwarf cichlids so have big personalities for their size. They do fine with small fish that are quite quick. I am not sure about severums as i have never kept them. I would recommend making a post in the cichlid forums for more advice in that area. I really really like them though and the parenting they exhibit is amazing.

Well, apparently apistos like my water. The cacautoides spawned and I have eggs in their coconut cave

Lovely looking fish Rachel. I love the look of apistos but i havent been able to keep them so far. Maybe once I get settled back down in a couple months i will try them out.

I have to tell you, i am pretty new to the apisto scene and am just in love. The females bold yellow coloration and parenting skills are just mindboggling. Apistos have soooo much personality packed into a small fish. I am totally sold. I can easily see them becoming my next focus or an additional focus to my invertebrates.
