Apistogramma pebas???

Hi All. I just got some wild apistos that I was told were Apistogramma pebas. After quite a bit of research I am not sure if they are pebas. So I am asking any fellow apisto person for some help in IDing. Here is a link to the more pics I have other than thease.

Your male looks like one (although yours is alot nicer than the pic), but your female is missing some spot's. I havent' seen a whole lot of variation in any of my females spot/blotch pattern. Maybe a closely related species? What do the real apisto geeks over at apistogramma.com say?

Hi Mooman. Thanks for the reply Yea I have seen that pic. I have just about broke my computer searching for pics every where. LOL Some I can't even read no translation mod. I do think I do have pebas there seems to be 4-5 diff forms with diff names purple,algodon I II ,parrot ect really confusing. Well mooman I would be interested in some hongsloi. Right now I have about 120+ rotpunkt fry from 2 dif fems same father 3 spawns growing out. I also got some A. cruzi 40+ fry also and some borellii none are sexable yet. I am hoping on getting the pebas to spawn been feeding lots of live/frozen food. My panduros and bits too. So we'll see might do some trading you got some I would like to have in my collection.

the largest of the hongsloi is about 1cm. Just a little too small to ship. As soon as they reach sexable size I'll let you know. I should also have trifasciata soon. My female is gaurding the very last of her first spawn, only had 6 to start with. her next spawn should be bigger. I'll take anything I haven't kept yet. I try and get a species to spawn. Get a few spawns in grow-out, and then trade the parents for a species I haven't kept yet. So many apistos, so little time ya know.

Ohh, I wouldn't doubt that you've got some geographical variant of peba, based on the scant photographical evidence available. Good luck with them.
