I was talking to a friend of mine on the phone. Telling them about Rachel's apistos and how much I liked them. They never really caught my eye before. Now after seeing the pictures of hers, I want some. Anyway, this friend told me they have Viejita and Trifasciata and would send me a pair of each. I know next to nothing about apistos and have been googling these 2 types. I do know they like plants and small cave like dwellings. There is so much conflicting information out there that I figured I would ask here as well. I tend to trust many of your opinions as oppose to random sites. So here goes.
1. Should they be housed separately or can these 2 types be housed in the same tank? (cross breeding)?
2. How big of a tank do they need?
3. Are these types especially difficult or easier than most apistos to keep?
4. How many huts/ caves?
5. Should I ask for trios instead of just pairs? I read on some sites - pair bond, other sites harem.
6. What can they go with or do they need species only?
7. Give any insights you can as I will really appreciate your expertise.
Thanks in advance for your help.
