Aponegeton plants

I have some Aponegeton plants and the were growing fine last fall and now the refuse to hardly grow at all and do these plants go through a cycle or stage every year were there growth slows down? They used to almost grow out of my tank. I asked my lfs about plant conditioner but he said it may screw my tank up.

It depends on the species. AFAIK, some species need a cooler dormant period, whereas others will die back but can be left in the tank and will regrow after a time. I've never kept these plants so I may be incorrect here.
My suggestion is to post your question in the planted tanks section of the forum. If you can, include: tank specs, fert routine, CO2, and the specific species.

Most of the Apon species will go into a dormancy and just sit. Whether or not they come back depends on how well nourished they were while they were actively growing.
