so how does this process work? :)
i got the aponogeton from "betta bulbs" and have had it for almost 2 months now
it sent up a 2 prong white flower stock that sticks out 2 inches from water line to top of my cover on it
umm so my few questions are the first stalk stayed up then sort of sank and just ended up floating in the water then another new flower spike came up (same with the other plant i have both are betta bulb plants)
so as i read online i rubbed them together dipped them in my water then sort of had them "attach" to each other
now one of the plants sent up what looks to be like a bean pod or like a really clamped leaf so will it make seeds/plantlets from there or is that some kind of jacked up leaf?
and if im totally wrong how long if im even able to see "seeds" and when they sprout.
i have a 45gallon which is slightly less than 1wpg i think (2 20w bulbs but i read about reflective plate yesterday and i guess the guy put one in the back of it ^^)
sidenote i had an amazon little plantlet for like 6 months now and it hasnt technically grown it just makes more tiny leaves (does it just grow that slow?)
oh and i dont use fertilizer or co2 :D
srry its so long but help/insight is welcome

Your amazon will be very very slow growing if you don't dose any ferts. If you were to put a root tab under it, it would speed it up and the leaves would get larger.

My Apono Crispus just gave me my first flower. I'm hoping it will produce seed pods as well. I've seen photos of them on Google. If I get more flowers or get my other Apono's to flower, I'm going to use a feather to pollenate them. :)

thx for the revival of my topic
one of the apono had 3 seeds (2 i found 1 was a husk) the other didnt
i lost one of the seeds and the other is floating with some water in a coconut thats also floating in the tank lol
i was a little lost in identifying my apono so i assume its some kind of apono ulvaceus hybrid because it doesnt have the wavyness of others (but hasnt really grown much either so time will tell) i can only identify with the 2 prong white flower spike (with yellow pollen)

I found this online:

"Use a fine brush to pollinate the flowers. Seeds will germinate In a sand/very fine gravel compost covered by shallow water."

how long has it been floating?
