Do you have pet supermarket by you? Here in orlando they regularly get baseballish sized ones for $5

Are you sure they are not selling brigs? All other snails classified as Apple snails other than briggs... I THINK are illegal in every state.
And it sounds like the OP is asking for true Apple snails... not mystery snails.
Its deff an apple snail, no.other aquatic snail gets to be that large and the ones for sale are already golfball sized and munch on the plants. how are they illegal if they are in our rivers here in fl? My uncle routinely collects them for his ponds.

They are illegal BECAUSE they are in the rivers in FL. They are displacing native species. They do not originate in the US.
There are many types of snails called Apple snails, but if the ones you're talking about are truly baseball size, then from what I've read from multiple sources they are illegal. Mystery snails can easily reach golfball size and are not illegal.
Mystery snails (brigs) usually don't eat plants so if the ones you've seen do eat plants... then that is confusing and not sure how it could be a legal snail in FL.

Hey all AquaticAustin and rastoma thanks for the reply. I should clarify that yes I'm looking for Pomacea canaliculata in Wisconsin only. From what I've found they are illegal to ship and transport across state lines but are not illegal to transport and have within state lines. I believe they're prohibited in some states due to their appetite but I would check with your local dnr on that. I would love to be in FL right now! Pet stores don't carry them here because they claim that they're illegal to sell but I have yet to find documentation on that. Also Pomacea canaliculata is not on the prohibited or restricted list on the WI DNR invasive species list. Although I started looking for quality Pomacea bridgesii (diffusa), because it'll probably be impossible to find canaliculata locally, I would still like canaliculata if possible. From the USDA site "Decollate snails (Rumina decollata) and aquatic snails in the family Ampullaridae (e.g., Pomacea canaliculata, channeled apple snail),with one exception, may not be imported or moved interstate except for research purposes into an APHIS inspected containment facility."
