Are apple snails hardy, are they sensitive to water conditions?

they are pretty hardy but they need the same water quality as any fish. they are very sensitive to heavy metals tho. this is a great site about them: www.applesnail.net

I've had them before they are endless fun to watch!

make sure he gets some supplemental veggies
