I've got this stuff growing on one of my LR not all over and am not really sure what it is. I am not sure if its apstasia because I have 2 or 3 peppermint shrimp in my tank. It looks like apstasia, the color and shape, but I would think the shrimp would have taken care of it by now. I don't have a camera so I can't post it. How may types of apstasia are there? What else out there looks like apstasia?

Don't know really. They have cleaned up the rest of the tank. So I'm assuming it could be someting other than aptasia for right now.

Aptaisa, Majanas

:read: yoU CAN FIND PICTURES OF APTASIA ON THE INTERNET EASY. iF THEY ARE SMALL PRETTY ANEMONIES WITH BULB TIPS, THEY ARE MAJANAS, WHICH TAKE OVER THE TANK JUST LIKE APTASIA. MAIN DIFFERENCE IS APTASIA ARE NOT NICE TO LOOK AT, MAJANOS ARE, UNTIL THEY OVERTANK THE AQUARIUM.

JOES JUICE WORKS FOR BOTH. WHEN WE HAD APTASIA THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED WAS A RACOON BUTTERFLY, WHICH WILL EAT CORALS. WE NEVER TRIED JOES JUICE UNTIL THE BUTTERFLY DIED. WE TOOK ALL THE ROCKS OUT AND TREATED EACH ANEMONIE. TWO DAYS LATER WE FOUND MAYBE A DOZEN STILL ALIVE, AND AFTER TREATING THOS E IN THE WATE, HAVE NOT SEEN SIGN OF ANY.

No, not really. I've tried that and all that happens is the apstasia ducks down and goes in hidding. Besides if you kill any out it comes back later.

actually the bigger differance is that the aptiasia does sting corals and anenimes, reg legged crabs are know for eating them and copper band buttefly fish do the job well
