Aqua Clear 2000 filter

I have measurements of the filter if you're interested. I'll get a pic soon. My husband has to do that as i'm technologically inept.

Measurements are rounded to the nearest 1/4 inch.

Length: 13 1/2 inches
Height: 8 3/4 inches
Width: 7 1/4 inches including the spillway spout
Width of the inner chamber: 4 3/4 inches

It has a large sponge in the bottom half which reminds me of a brick when I look at it. There is a second sponge on top of that one but it's only half as long. No other media with it.

Aquaclear did indeed make a 2000 filter. Rated for 55g and up. Mines been running strong for 20-25 years on all original parts.

I believe the AC2000 should use the same media (and parts if needed) as the current 110/550 series. That would make the sponge 3.5" x 3.5" x 9.75".

If the sponge needs replacing, and you can't find the correct size, Big Al's online sells the AC 70/300 generic sponge for $1.39 each. Buy four and cut them to 3.5" x 3.5" and stack them to fill the compartment.

This thread is from 2008 guys.
