Aqua Clear Power Filters

I just set up my new 100 gal tank,upgraded from a 55 gal.
I bought an Aqua Clear 110 power filter to accompany my whisper 60 power filter.
Dose the bio max material need to be completely submerged in the Aqua Clear filter box to be effective?
I'm circulating around 825 gallons of water an hour,is this enough filtration?
Any help would be appreciated.

biomax should be submerged to allow water to run through them. Otherwise, bacteria cannot get on the biomax material and the material will not be able to house the bacteria to live on it. Try to shove the sponge and carbon package a little. For me, i didnt use all the biomax that came with my aqua clear filter at once. I am currently using about half of what came with my original package. hope that helps
