Has anyone ever heard of a aquaclear 1000 series power filter?

I am purchasing a tank from someone and he states he has 2 of them.

I just want to make sure that 2 of these are enough for a 150 gallon but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

I searched this forum and Big Al's etc and cant find any info anywhere. It seems the largest is the 500 series.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Anthony

I can't remember for the life of me but I swear I saw an aquaclear 1000 maybe I'm going crazy. If anything I think it's thier old series of filters before they changed to the new series 100-500?
Otherwise I know thier powerheads are numbered in series like that 1000, 2000, etc. and they have a filter attachment for them. I'm sure someone else knows for sure.

According to Hagen's website

http://www.hagen.com

There's no mention of an AC1000 and the powerheads are in the hundreds and 2000, 3000, 4000.

As far as enough filtrations, I have 2 - AC500's on my 150G along with a Magnum 350/Bio-wheel canister...and that's plenty...I think 2 - AC500's alone would probably be on the low side.

I have an AC2000 filter. This is over 10 years old and is the same size as todays AC500. So if these are older hagen filters I would assume AC1000 could be the size of a AC300 or 200.
I have also sent email to hagen various times and they are very good at getting back to you with answers.

I bought my fist Aquaclear filter in 2001. At my peak I had about 30 running and I have owned and still own every size power filter they make. In all this time there has never been a AC 1000 power filter. When I began buying them they used the numbers 100, 150, 200, 300 and 500 which were the gph flow rate with no media in them. Later they changed the naming to 20, 30, 50, 70 and 110. Same filters, different numbering.

A power head is not a filter. Even with a large intake sponge it is barely a filter. Powerheads are intended to move water. I still use 3 of these in okeco breeding tanks. They all work with a largeATI sponge on the intake. This makes them part filter and part water mover. I even power my UV sterilizer (when I use it) with a powerhead.

On my 150 gal I run an AC 500/110, a H.O.T. Magnum and an Eheim Pro II 2026. The tank holds my clown loaches includeing 4 at 10-12 inches TL and about 15 huge redline barbs and a ton of anubias.
