I have had my two Emperors for about 6 years and they have worked fine for that time. However, in the last few months I have noticed that one has slowed down a bit on it's flow and is a bit noisier. I do not see any damge to the impellor. Is it worth it to get new parts for this or should I change over to the AC? (for which I have heard nothing but good things) Thanks in advance!

I had an emperor 400 that ran for nine and a half years. Towards the end I had to bring it back to life more than a few times that was more than fustrating. It also became very noisey. No matter what I did to it it was becoming more and more touchy and a bigger problem not to mention the noise. I bought an Aquaclear 110 and believe me this filter is awsome! It is very quiet and extremely efficient. If I were you I would just change it out to an Aquaclear and be done with it. You will never be happier.

Thanks for the input!

My experience with my emporors is that the flow tends to drop off quick between cleanings...most my tanks have aquaclears...great work horses, easy to clean and you can put all kinds of media in them.
