Well the question is pretty much in the subject. I have an aquaclear mini that i want to put one of the things on for my soon to be reef tank. There is an oily film on the top of the water that i dont like at all.

I added one to my planted FW 40, and it worked very well to clear the surface. They require quite a bit of surface clearance, and you'll have to fiddle with it for a while to get it set correctly, but they do work.

The surface area thing shouldnt be a problem since i can make all the surface area i need. Since my dad is buying it for me there is really no reason to pass it up, and i need one too.
