AquAdvisor - software to help you stock your tanks!

Ok I figured out how to generate MSI based install package which will install like more conventional install programs, including creating a desktop icon. I noticed it will also upgrade more gracefully.

I'll include this in the next version. Mean while, please uninstall and re-install. :)

Great work on the update -- lots of good features implemented! :D
Here are the problems I've found so far:

  • Ember Tetra = Hyphessobrycon amandae
  • Kenyi Cichlid* (just a spelling error)
  • Swordtail* (just a spelling error)
  • Recommended* (water temperature spelling error)
As you can see, the problems are minor. I'll play around with it more later. :)

Yes I am reading up on the Deployment section of Visual Studio right now. :D I am trying to avoid having people to download their own .Net 3.5 (which I would imagine is not small). I figured out a way to generate normal .MSI but that has pre-requisites from what I can tell (such as .Net 3.5).

Need to look further into it.

No big thing but it would have been nice to know in advance that your program required .NET 3.5
I still would have installed it, but on a different computer.

Also, a small bug.
Once you add several fish to the proposed stock and you want
to go back and edit the number of fish of one of your entries, you can
change the number of fish in the LAST entry only.

For any of the others, you must remove/re-enter that fish with the new quantity.

The program is a nice start, keep it up. :thm:

I was actually under the impression that you did not have to download it if I generate distribution in certain ways. And this turned out to be wrong. I finally got VMWare working on my PC and tried it on a vanila Windows XP and guess what, it forces me to download .Net 3.5. That's unfortunate since I was trying to avoid that. I'll gonna see if there's a way to lower this requirement.

The way it works (for now) is that you have to find the same fish again and re-specify another quantity and do Add/Update. It should work for any already-selected species on the list. This is counter intuitive to me - users should be able to directly modify the quantity from the selected list. I was too lazy to learn the methods for that monster control that displays the selected species. :D I'll get there eventually.

Thanks. :)

The Analyse button should be spelled Analyze and there is no albino cory or bolivian ram or and arowana and gars, moonlight gouramis, Laetacra Dorsiger, rubberlip pleco, besides all of that i though it was fantastic!
