i only had enough silicone to install the external box. i will install the internal box/back tomorrow. i probably had enough but i didn't want to run short half way.

Wow scooter that looks like a great project. How do you plan on plumbing for the return? You seem to be very confident in working with the glass and abs. Nice job on the lens/light replacement. Can't wait to see how it all turns out when you "add water". Will keep watching.

Wow. That is killer. I have an aquapod 24 as well and I love it... wish I had the skills to do what you are doing with the overflow... That is so freakin' cool. I took the hood off of mine and put on a chiller and a sunpod 150W. The hood drives the heat through the roof. Also, the pump is crap so I am glad yours was missing. I put a maxijet 1200 in mine and it works like a charm... and yes, ditch the stand and hide it from the rest of teh world. Unlike you I paid $125 for the freaking stand...it got just a bit a salt water on it (like 17 gallons...) and it was falling to pieces. Got rid of it yesterday. Excited to see how yours turns out... and for $50.00 that is great. if you decide you need a hood drop me a line.

thanks for your kind words. i took a look at your tank looks awesome!
if my hood doesn't work out i will probably go with a stand alone fixture

Nice experiment, Scoot!
