I think it is an awesome idea if properly built. I love the idea of having my tank being so close to where I am relaxing and being an item I can actually use and enjoy...I would definitely be open to one. :dance2:

I have my fish tank in the living room where I spend most of my time relaxing. They don't have to be in the coffee table to be close by.

As do I. When I am relaxing on my couch I simply look slightly to the left and watch. I guess that for some people the difference of a couple of feet, 3 feet to the coffee table or 12 feet to the tank, would alter their enjoyment level.

I agree with alot of the above--too many negatives. Especially the stress on the fish--floor vibrations, kicking, putting things on the table. Pretty, but definitely NOT. :thud:

I'd like one though I doubt I'd put fish in it. Maybe something else that wouldn't be so stressed by the movements around it but I'm also aware they're more trouble than they're worth.

Not the worst, someone once posted a link to a bathroom sink that was a fish tank.
