I have been looking at a light to best match my 29 gallon lightly planted freshwater and have come up with this:

The light I am looking at is the CD-16981 Freshwater 24" (65 watts 6700k light). As you probably know, the 29 gallon tanks are about 30" wide, which would leave 3" per side without light above, and based on what I read online I don't believe the mounting legs will attach (picture below).
Would a 36" light with mounting legs be more appropriate for fully lighting a 29 gallon tank? A link to the mounting legs is below, and the enclosed picture looks like it would affix to this wider light. Your input is appreciated.
