Aquarium safe glue/adhesive

its silicone, no such thing as silcone. (just a misspelling)

In any case, any 100% silicone you see at a hardware store is perfectly safe for aquariums. Just beware the ones that have fungicides or other chemicals mixed in.

Thanks everyone, looks like a trip to the hardware store is in my future!

My local hardware store made it really easy for me. I stood there reading all these bottles of silicone and none of them were right, then I looked up and they had fish tank specific stuff :D . However my project is not going as good as hoped, my gravel is a little too big and not sticking very well!! I did by a small pvc pipe and was thinking about buying sand or some really fine gravel to glue to it. Would sand be ok though??

i glue clear marbles to them takes a lot less glue and they are pretty heavy. i see people use greatstuff in reef tanks that stuff dosent cost too much.

I would just stick with stuff that is made for aquariums to be on the safe side, rather than use things that aren't meant for aquariums.

Those silicones, epoxies, and what not are not special things made for the aquarium. They are already existing products that are rebadged.

what do you mean by that? What I bought was a bottle of aquarium safe glue, for fixing cracks or gluing together slate etc. (what the bottle said).

Its not some special mix that was made specifically for aquariums. Its an already existing product that some (smart) company took, rebadged "made for aquariums" then sells for 3x the price of the original product.

well, all the stuff that the hardware stuff had said that it was mildew resistant, etc. so I assumed that those were the wrong things. the supposed "fish safe" stuff was the only one that didn't have all the extra stuff in it. It was only 4 dollars, for a bottle way bigger than I needed, so it worked out. I just thought you were saying I had bought the wrong stuff!
