For short term use (ie medicating for a couple of weeks) it will be fine. For long term use (which isn't needed) then it can kill many plants and harm certain fish.

Freshwater fish actively maintan a natural balance of electrolytes in their body fluids.Electrolytes such as Potassium, sodium, chloride, celciumand magnesium are removed from the water by chloridee cells located at their gills.
These electrolights are essential for the up tack of oxigen and the releas of carbon dioxide and ammonia across gill membranes. A lack of electrolight may caus surius helth problems for fish.the salt madfrom evaperated seawater
provids the esential elecrrolytes fis need to thrive in a aquarium.
"IS SALT BAD FOR PLANTS"

There is plenty of electrolytes in your tapwater to maintain a healthy balance for the fish. Freshwater fish in anyways gets most of their minerals from food so adding salt 24/7 is a waste of money IMHO.

THX. My tire track eel had ick or somthing so I added the salt
And it worket very well. Now I will stop to not harm my plants

When killing ich run the salt for at least a week after ich is gone. Then start to remove the salt using regular water changes. As I said a few weeks won't kill 99% of all plants, just prolonged use.

Thx for reply. This will be the second week of use, I will stop.
I thank it got it from a feeder, from my pond.

I'm curious, how big is your tank? Those are some monster fish in there.
