Walmart takes ANYTHING back with no questions asked. You can bring that thing back and they'll let you exchange if for another one. I have never had a problem returning anything to walmart.

but yea...that sounds to me like it isn't the light...if anything i would go with the heater...or maybe a powerhead of you have one.
but as galaxie says...i think it is a static shock...not ac/dc shock

I get shocked frequently by the water. But our carpets are really awful in here. Every time I touch my cats I get shocked too. But it always makes me nervous around the aquarium because there are so many things in there. However, I still think its just the carpet.
