Whats going on everyone i just registered with AC glad to be apart of the crowd. i had a quick question ive read plenty of threads and found some usefull info here. has anyone ever heard of or looked into any aquarium software. i dont know if any of you keep logs or journals for your tanks but i can say proudly that i do. im always on the comp so i think it would just be easier to keep a log on here and more prof. then just pen and paper. ive seen a few like fishdatabase and a program called aquarix but none have held tru to being a great software for aqaurium hobbyists or veterans. anyone know of any yes or no? i would appreciate the info. thanks

I do computer programming for a living and when I got into this hobby I thought about writting some software, but I really didn't keep logs of my fish tank params. or any kind of ridgid water change schedule.

If your interested in having some software I would recommend you write it yourself.

Microsoft Access, while not the best, is a good database program and you can create some nice forms for data input and reports with Access... and it's not too hard to learn. Just get a copy of Microsoft Access and a book on Access programming and I would say in a week you could have something pretty decent (if you read the book).

If you want to write something a little better you could learn Visual Basic programming, which also isn't very complex.

Either way I could help you out with it if your interested in learning a new skill.
