Hi, I have an adjustable 2 shelf open bookcase with slat shelves (all wood) that I screwed corner braces (2 1/2 inch "L") to on top of the shelf and below. 4 Corners with bracket above and below shelf to the legs = 8 braces per shelf. I currently have a 10 gallon tank on each shelf. Would this be sturdy enough to put a 29 gallon tank on one shelf and a ten on the other? It fits perfectly where it is. Opinions would be appreciated. Thank you

When the bookshelf was purchased, how much weight was advised could be put on it?

I personally would not put a 29 g tank on it, and I would seriously rethink having the tens on it.. IMO, its a disaster waiting to happen..

I don't remember what weight it said it could hold (drat). It's screwed together with bolts plus the brackets I put on it. I don't need water running everywhere. At present, it doesn't wobble or move at all, no swaying, etc. I was thinking about bolting another plywood solid board to the top of the shelves also.

slat shelving???
I'll asume it has no back...if so, all you really did with the "L's" is lock the adjustable shelf in place...maybe ok for one ten gal. but you need somthing beefier for the 29.
