aquarium upgrade help

:look: Could someone out there be able to advise on the correct way to up grade from a 180 litre tank to a 350 litre.
Would it be ok to put all my old tank water in the add ready made salt water to the correct level with lr and crushed coral/sand then add fish all in one go or is there rules?
This (180) tank has been running for over a year having upgraded form a 120 litre with no probs but doubling the size now seems worrying! any tips would be appreciated. Thanks. :thm:

I can't understand most of what you wrote and your lacking info in some places, however I willl try and help ya. If that isn't a language barrier problem and your capable of writing/typing better than that, please do, it will help the both of us.

How exactly did you upgrade from120 liter to 180 liter?

You sould be able to do it the same way, but I need more info if I am to tell you anything you don't know.

You are planning on mixing the salt water before you add it to the tank right?

Personally, I would try and keep both tanks up. I would plumb it so that water moves inbetween the two tanks, so that you've got even more water volume and water stability (always a plus). This would give you almost no negative disturbance to your current tank and will pretty much give you a second tank that is just as established (only difference in matturity between the two tanks would be the amount of algae growth,) and ready for fish as soon as you start the pump wich circulates the water between the tanks up.

Sorry, what i did before was to catch the fish scoop out the sand place the live rock in then add the old water then new water (brought form my lfs ready mixed and stable) let the filters work till the water was clear then add soft corals and then the fish together all was fine its just this time its like a very big water change, a little bit worried about amonia spikes ect or is this not likely also will be needing more live rock do i put this in during the change over or wait before adding more??? hope this makes more sense.

If you keep your rocks, sand and filter media wet (if you use external bio or mechanicall filters), the chances of an ammonia or nitrie spike should be slim to none, espescially considering the increased water volume. Of course, if you have a HUGE bioload and your tank is just barely managing to take care of the ammonia and nitrite, then chances are you will have atleast a small ammonia or nitrite spike, but I highly doubt your in that situatuation so you don't have to worry about that.

The 180 at the moment has spot on stats with the following fish:-
1 x 16 month old regal tang(75 mm long being the reason for upgrade)
1 x lepoard wrasse
2 x clowns (breeding pair)
1 x bicolor dottyback
1 x lemonpeel angel
1 x redheaded goby
1 x pulse coral
2 small rocks of mushrooms
1 x 18 month old sand shifting starfish
2 x red leg hermits
7 x blue leg hermits
1 x unidentified crab? (brown with red eyes 2 white strips over centre top of shell)
any ideas on new tank mates??? would like a moorish idol!!but heard they are hard to get to feed. :thud:
