Aquariumplants.com reg up and going!

Just a bit of advice, when installing PTFE thread tape:

Make sure to run the tape tightly across the threads, below the top thread and in the same direction as the threads are being screwed in. If you don't do this there is a good chance that a chunk of thread tape will end up plugging your unit or even ruining the solenoid.

I used to be an airsmith for paintball guns and have had to replace too many solenoids due to sloppy thread tape work.

i think they sell a perma seal or something with a like name that is better than the o ring. pipe thread can cause problems

Bageldog is spot on. make sure the tape goes on the same direction as you tighten the fitting. also make sure no tape hangs over the opening to the valve as a small piece of teflon in your regulator will gum up the works. but for the record, teflon tape/pipe dope is not needed because of the o ring. but it will certainly allow you to tighten the fittings easier and tighter if used properly.

So Bigwater how do you like it so far,I got mine up and running,my plants seem to like it. They are growing and looking better.

I just ordered the black box last month to use with my Milwaukee regulator. Haven't had the time to install it yet, but I am looking forward to it. From what I have read about it, everybody likes it. It cost me $149 just for the black box, and I am willing to bet that it is going to be a huge improvement over the Milwaukee needle valves that fluctuate with the weather.
