I tried to grow a banana plant many years ago and failed miserably. I just got one about 2 weeks ago and I stuck a portion of it into the substrate of a newly set up tank. Yesterday I was doing a water change and I dislodged the plant out of the substrate. It surprised me to see there is a single white roots growing from the end of each banana. The roots were up to 4" long. The plant is not really looking its best but hopefully at some point I will see some new growth.
Does the plant put on new bananas at the bottom of the bunch or above it at the base of the stem?
