Hey,
I got 3 of these ferns the other day. The LFS said that they came in with a shipment of Java Fern. He said that he had a previous shipment of it, kept some as a marsh/bog plant and the portion outside of the water died. The submerged part did fine. When I bought it, it was already growing roots in the gravel. Here are some pics of it:

BTW, it is about 7 or 8 inches high, has a firm stem, and the leaves are pretty firm as well.

Thanks

I'm not a plant expert, but it looks very similar to Bolitus heudolotti (sp) AKA african fern. I have several of them, and they are a great plant but extremely slow growing.

yes and bulbitus is like java fern in that it grows in the splash zone out of the water and only ocasionally submersed...

the fact that it died out of the water doesn't sound like iether java or bulbitus... no clue, probably lots of stuff out there that isn't commonly avialable that would do great in aquiariums.

so how fast is it growing :D hint hint...

just kidding great find and keep us updated on how it does.
