I just got an aquatic frog from the LPS. In the store tank the frogs were very active, but now that mine is at home he is very inactive, I don't see him eating, but he has been alive for over a week now so I have to assume that he is at least eating something. If I get more frogs, will he become more active? Is there anything I can do?

Amphibians can actually go quite awhile without eating...so I wouldn't worry too much if it's been only a week. He/she may just be taking some time getting used to the different surroundings and different water. Having another frog may help it to adjust a little easier.

If its an African Dwarf Frog then make sure you are feeding it frozen bloodworms and since they are almost blind you have to get them close to the frog so they can smell it out. Check the article on ADF's on how to care for them if that is what you have. Any other kind of frog requires land. I find my ADF's are not very active but they come up for air every 10 minutes or so and will eat bloodworms until their bellies are very full.

As has been said, what are you feeding it? What size tank? How long has it been set up/water parameters? What is in the tank with it?
Some are lazy, some are active...like people. Sometimes they get into moods where they do a lot, other times they bum around. Getting more would not make him more active than he is now.

Hope that you have yourself an ADF because these little guys are very interesting to watch. They are so funny and always end up hanging off of a plant or climbing up a piece of driftwood. I have 6 of the little guys and they are among my favourites.
ADF's are really cool to watch because they do some goofy stuff but man is mine a pain the @$$, i have to stick my whole arm in his tank on my dresser with a betta that starts eating away my arm and a pleco that's sucking away at my arm, then it seriously takes him 3 minutes before he strikes, unless he falls over and i have to wait another 5, crazy little things...
You don't need to get him buddies if you don't want. One will be fine. I like more than one, personally, because they're fun to watch together (can we say frogpile), but it's not a necessity.

You might also think of getting him something to hide in or under if you don't have that. I have 4 and they usually stay underneath the ornaments until after dark when they come out to play. These guys are great to watch. They hang from plants and do a dead mans float that is hilarious.
