Aqueon Evolve 8 Stocking Suggestions

Bought this little tank at a thrift store today for 3 bucks, couldn't pass it up. Now the question becomes what to stock it with. There will be a heater added, since it doesn't come with one, and the stock filtration will be used...prefer no bettas. Shoot some ideas at me.

Sparkling gouramis? Lots of nice nano fish out there. Or do you prefer a single fish?

A pair of dwarf gouramis.
Freshwater lionfish
Cherry barbs and Cherry shrimp
Apistogramma
Neons
bumblebee catfish (although you probably won't ever see it)

I am not really for sure what I want to do with it, I thought about invert only maybe some Cambarellus Texanus or CPO would be nice...just so conflicted on what to do.

Texanus are pretty cool. I have them without problem with both fish and plants.

Nice little score for only $3! That would look great on a computer desk/work station. I'd stock it simple with either some Red Crystal Shrimp or some Celestial Pearl Danios.

After getting it filled and somewhat scaped I am thinking neons and some sort of shrimp.
