AR 15 info

So I went to the nations gun show on saturday in VA and found a company I haven't heard of yet, Del-Ton Inc. They started with rifle kits and now make the full guns. I've read some good reviews and then some bad but does anyone have one out there? They run about $700 come with a hard case and a lifetime warranty. I also found a DPMS for about the same price so I'm kind of back and forth. I was thinking about building one but for right now $700 is a great price, it all depends on what I have saved in February
Yeah building an AR is tricky especially the barrel to upper receiver, I have built 2 and its actually not worth the trouble for the saving unless your building for resale. Id just buy one.

^ I disagree. You can build a LOT cheaper rifle and make it custom to how and what you shoot for much cheaper than buying one from a gun shop. I just helped my buddy build a 24" Bull Barrel AR for long distance groundhog removal and if he had bought a complete rifle it would have been much more expensive.

I dident say you couldent save money, I just said it was not worth my trouble, including the liability if you sell it and the op-rod ends up stuck in someone face, I have done this long enough to see it happen more then once on home built guns by even the most experienced home builders using bargain parts from the gun shows. But to each his own will live and let learn.

That's true with most "homemade" guns but when it comes to AR parts most brands (minus colt) are very hard to tell apart and are for the most part milled on the very same machines making them basically clones of each other.

I've seen them at some of the trade shows I have to go to, and they seem ok and decent quality. However, I prefer these Knight Armaments http://www.knightarmco.com/guns.html They are excellent quality, and easy to modify as you need to. Plus they offer a higher caliber version of the AR above a .223 or 5.56

I would love a Knight's Armament rifle but unfortunately its out of my price range for now. I would love a SR-25 but it would be awhile before I get that

Well after looking at the del tons for awhile I won a bid on one last night. With shipping it was only 600 so I guess we'll see how it is when it gets here

Md state police background check passed and I'll be picking up the gun after work. I went to look at it last Monday and fill out all the paperwork and the only issue I found was that it had something rattling around in the upper that I couldn't figure out what it was while the gun was still together. I'm gonna take it apart when I get it home later on and see whats up, otherwise it's a beautiful gun that has never been fired from what I can see. I haven't been on here in awhile since I started the new job but I'm gonna try and make it on more often to update tanks and guns

I was going to say sportsmansguide has complete colt m16 parts kit, minus the lower receiver for 600 bucks. a stripped lower typically runs 125-175 here in RI

So for 775 you would have all the parts but one, would be original colt manufacture.

let us know how you like it.
