Archer Fish has white film (cloudy eye?) on one eye - what should I do?

I have not bought any of the Hikari food sticks, but I will check it out.
My archer is somewhat obsessed with crickets. He will eat other food, but is always looking up as if he is waiting for the good stuff.
The few times I have fed him larger crickets, it took him a while to get it down his throat.
Maybe try the smaller crickets. If the food sticks are large, try to break them up and see if that helps.
He has started eating, so that is a good sign. I bet you will see him eat more and more.
Has the eye cleared up?

yeah, i will see what happens in the next few days as it looks like he's finally getting comfortable with the new home.

the eye is a lot better, the first day, the entire eye was cloudy, now, there might be a small speck on his pupil, but I can't really tell anymore.

I ended getting a 10g tank on craigslist as a backup in case I needed to treat it, but it doesn't look like that will be necessary:thm:

This seems a little old, and I doubt the original posters/respoders are still around, but I was curious if eveything turned out ok?

I also recently purchased an archer and after a week noticed the exact same thing. One eye is completely covered with a whitish film. My archer won't touch crickets and the only thing I've been able to feed him successfully are small feeder fish, which he eats voraciously. The problem is, he seems to be having a problem catching them with the eye problem.

Hopefully it clears up like the others here seem to have experienced, but if not, what should I do?
