Are Betta fish compatible with corydoras habrosus?

I have a fairly friendly betta and all he did was try to attack my corydoras habrosus. He ate off a significant amount of his dorsal fin as well... I had to take my cory back to the store

I have kept bettas with both habrosus and had no difficulty. I also have a female betta that I would not trust in the tank with anything. Bottom line-- know your betta and have a backup plan if it doesn't work out before you try combining them.
