are Jack Dempsey's usually shy

Has Ralph upset Jack, and latched on to him or something? You haven't made any changes in the last week (diet, aquascape), water chemistry dropped in any way, changes in your behaviour?

Was a comotion in the tank the other night, gravel flying and water splashing, and Jack swimming away from Ralph.

My routine is the same; come home from the shop, feed the fishies and myself, sit and watch the tube and/or read.

Water still the same: 0/0/15/7.2

Nothing has been changed, other than removal of some stem plants that kept getting up-rooted-not sure who was doing the aquascaping, Jack or Ralph.Still have the swords and Vals-no much of a change. Only other change is I've started using Florish Excell (plants are doing Good!) and shut off the UV filter.

Probaly should find another home for Ralph. When I got him, didn't read here on the 'net how big they get. Was 2 inches long when bought, now pushing 8 (in only 6 months!)

I think that's the best thing to do, as for whatever reason they seem to be having some kind of dispute, which more than likely will continue.

Sounds like they're well cared for if he's grown that much!
