Are Native(US) Fish considered exotic in other areas of the world?

I was just wondering if stuff like largemouth bass, and channel cats, and musky, are exotic in other parts of the world like cichlids are to US natives.

I don't think most species of native fish are commonly sold as aquarium fish.
A few, like killies, top minnows, gambusia, and sunfish, are available from specialized breeders/dealers.

Would sailfin Mollies qualify? I know they are sold as tropicals here but I've heard they are also used as bait fish in the deep South. Would they count?

Yes, they can be found in N. America, but hardly qualify as an 'exotic' in other parts of the world. They're extremely common in the aquarium trade.

an employee of a lfs (who knows how right they were) once told me sun fish are related to jewel cichlids.

Many sunfish have temperaments rivaling cichlids, but they are not closely related.

say u live in brazil, piranha and SA cichlids are native to you, but exotic to us, do you find sunfish, musky, largemouth bass, etc. exotic? like we find your fish exotic?
