Are Spixi's aggressive?

Adult spixi's won't eat live plants, but the baby/young ones will until they outgrow the bad habit. They're not aggressive toward other snails, but will eat the eggs of their own and/or other species. They're actually fairly effective for limiting population growth of ramshorns IME. (Either that, or the pleco's starved 'em out.) In a 30 long with ramshorns, spixi's, BN's and L333's it looks like the ramshorns aren't any more numerous than the spixi's. At one time I pulled hundreds of ramshorns out every couple months. Now there are only a few to be seen, and no babies.

Pure spixis don't eat plants or eggs at any point of their life, what you have are hybrids.

Really? I've never seen any of the spixi clutches disappearing, but figured the extremely low survival rate of the babies was due to the lack of live plants (aside from Najas) in the tank. Maybe it was the pleco's that thinned out the ramshorns after all.
