Are trace elements and such worth buying?

I'm in the process of cycling my 50 gallon saltwater tank with 40lbs of live rock. I have heard that trace element, liquid calcium, and iodine will help live rock thrive, but how important are such things? Witch one would be the most beneficial?

(This is not going to be a reef tank)

Skip them. Get a good salt mix and a good substrate and you should be fine. Especially if you're not building a clam and stony coral tank.
