I have had a singapore angel for over a month now and he has been doing fine. Today I bought a Coral beauty and the Singapore seems to chase the Coral around the tank. She will hide for awhile then comes out then goes back to hiding. Was it a bad idea to put them in the same tank or will they settle down? When the Coral hides the Singapore seems to watch over her. After a while he will swim off leaving her alone.

Those are two of my favorite fish and plan to keep both in my 75. I was told on RC if they are introduced at the same time and one is noticeably larger than the other, it can and has worked.

Might be a bit tough for you since your Sing has already established its territory.

my Singapore is arond 3 1/2 inches and the Coral is arond two inches. The singapore usually is at the other end of the tank. So I don't know if this is bad yet or not. The Coral was eating tonight, which was the first time that food was in the tank since she was put in. I wonder if after a little time things will cool down. Maybe some LR moving and some time with the lights off will help. I could always try this. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

It can work but, ime it doesn't most of the time. Usually you will have quite a bit of aggresion to deal with the pymies are rather fiesty. If you have a very large tank you have better chances and the more distantly related your fish the better chance you have. I wish you luck but, I'd be ready to remove one or put in a tank divider.

with a 55 I don't think that I have near big enough tank to seperate them enough to have peace. Should have checked into this before I bought the fish, couldn't pass up the deal though. Now what to do with one of them.

we had the same problem with two dwarf angels... we kept the tank in the dark for 24 hours and were intent on getting the lemonpeel out after that, but when the lights went back on, it was as though nothing had happened and now they all live happily ever after! well they grunt at each other occasionally but that's about it..... wish you well with yours.

today seems to be a little better the singapore seems to be leaving the Coral alone for awhile then he will go find her. For the most part they seem to be getting along maybe time will cure all. At least I hope so.

I hope to as well man. FWIW, if they can live with each other for a week they probably won't kill each other. Just, be very carefull when you introduce any close relatives or members of the same species. The results can be quite ghastly sometimes.

Well here it is two days later and both of the angels are doing fine. The singapore has calmed down a ton. Doesn't pay to much to the Coral Beauty anymore. I have read that you can't have two angels in the same tank, but so far so good. They seem to be getting along which is great.

There are alot of written in stone rules in this hobby that really aren't. Sometimes things can work and sometimes not. Doesn't mean you can't try it.
