I personally can't remember a name to save my life. It took me 6 months to learn the names of the 6 people I work with. You can tell me your name, write it down, make me spell it 10 times. And I still won't remember it. As for directions. I can remember how to get somewhere in the dark, blinfolded laying down.

How good are you?

I'm not as good as names as I am with people--I'll remember their entire life stories, likes, dislikes, etc, but names take a few more minutes to surface.

Directions--I can always remember directions if I drove myself. If I was a passenger, well, take your bets. I am very spatially aware--I can always tell the cardinals. If something gets me too turned around to do so, I will get sick--fevers, puking, etc.

I'm HORRIBLE with names. Try as I might to remember I am awful. I can't hardly remember the names of some of my friends new babies either. It's awful.

I used to manage a retail store and I had tons of teenage girls that were my evening cashiers. They were all named Tiffiny or Danielle or something like that and I could never remember one from the other with the names so I just gave them all nicknames. LOL. They thought it was funny. Two best friends always worked together and I called them Bert and Ernie. I still hear from Bert at least once a week updating me on her college life. She is one neat kid!

Names I'm okay with - not great, not awful.

Directions - You don't want me driving. I have NO sense of direction, I have NO ability to remember how I got somewhere, I have NO ability to determine where I am in relation to other places. I can get lost in my home town...which is small. I try not to veer too far from the places I know because I'll definitely end up a few states over in the middle of the night thinking, "It must be just down that road." :D

It's the joke between my husband and I that he asks me which way we should turn when we approach a split in the road...he says to think of my answer and say the opposite because I'm so bad at it.

OMG! My best friend and I did our work study together and our boss used to call us Lucy and Ethel becuase she couldn't keep us straight (mind you we don't look alike, but even our husbands mistake us for each other on the phone, like if she answers my phone when she's over, etc...) What a trip!

I used to work in HR and am very much a people person, so yes I am very good with names (and details of lives and stuff). Directions I do really well if (like OrionGirl) I am the driver (or if I was the one to print out mapquest LOL)!!!!

I don't do names well, and for some reason some names are harder to remember than others; like Larry. An owner of a local bait camp is named Larry and I called him everything but that for the first year I knew him.

Directions: Usually pretty good unless I'm a passenger, then I don't pay enough attention.

I used to be horrible at remembering names, but now I just make sure to say it to them before I stop takling to them.
Something like, "Well it was nice talking with you, Bob."

Not good with names, either. Many years ago, when my son was still in grade school, I worked as a supervisor in the Lunch Program. After 5 years, I still couldn't remember their names. When doing the paperwork afterwards, somebody would ask, "Was so-and-so here today?" I would have no idea. Yet I saw supervisors who started new and could remember all the kids names within a month.

Also only good with directions if I've driven there myself. And I use my "familiar" routes to get somewhere new, even though they may be the longer way around, or require doubling back.

Names I'm ok with but Directions OH GOD heaven help me I don't know my right from my left literally I'll be driving with my honey and he'll saw left and I totally turn the wrong way at least if I keep going the wrong way I'll circle and then he can tell me the wrong way so I can go the right way ~ROFL~
