Well, I've had my tank for a few years, and I have officially experienced my first ich outbreak. I woke up yesterday to 2 dead fancy guppies (or what was left of them), and today there were 2 dead headlight/taillight tetras. Sadness! I couldn't figure anything out as to what was happening to them.
After thanksgiving with the family earlier today, I came home to take a nice long look at everthing, and I realized that a few of my fish were covered in tiny white spots. Though I've never had it before, I knew it to be ich right away. I've removed my carbon and added a malachite green treatment, so now I have lovely blueish green water! I've also turned up the heater on them. Following the instructions on my meds, I will do a 50% water change 24 hours from now, and if things arent cleared up in three days, I'll be treating again.
Anything else I should do?
