I have two arowanas.

They were labled as Silvers, but i couldnt help but ponder why the other one has diffrent fins.

This is the one i have, when searching up silver arowana, this fin shape came up offten.

Any diffrence?

Well, thos arnt the pics of the fish i seen at the store.

Its just for reffrence. But the two were in the same tank, labled as silvers.

Actually the 2nd pic is an Asian arowana, not an aussie one (jardini)
There is 5 rows of scales which is a direct indication of asian
I seriously doubt that they have an asian arowana because they are illegal and VERY expensive.

Search for Jardini or post post pictures of the ones at the store.

The care and growth of the 2 fish is quite different.

This is a Jardini. Notice the difference in scales.

Well, i know for a fact i have the silver.

Now, whats the big diffrence in the two fish? I was thinking of getting one of the Jardini i guess. I have a 120gal tank btw.

Your Jardini will most likely beat up, and/or kill your silver when it gets bigger! They are notoriouse for killing all other fish in the tank. Go to monsterfishkeepers.com, they have a forum for aros. There is a good thread abour Jardinis and their atitudes.

Yah, be glad you got the silver. He'll grow like crazy, but he will not kill fish that he can't eat. Mine's currently living in a 125 with three big plecos, and they all school together.

The silver will require a much larger tank in the not so distant future.
As stated before Jardinis are typically hell bent on being killing machines.

I agree that you should check out the stickies in the arowana section on Monsterfishkeepers. There is some excellent information there.
