BettaLovin....your bettas are fine............you're keeping up with water changes and they're healthy and doing well....don't worry about it......they're fish, not people....

I have kept my bettas in a 1 gallon tank with NO heater and NO filter and I have had no problems..except for one's fins tearing. I had plastic plants..a no no. Good luck on your bettas! They are a joy to watch AND keep!!

That's a rotten way to look at it. All living things deserve to be happy and comfortable and if under our care placed in an appropriate environment.
If anyone starts posting about bettas living in puddles in the wild I am going to have to &!*@# slap them. That's a SEASONAL condition, not the way they were meant to live their entire lives.

I agree Graphic. If you are going to stick a fish in a bowl that small where it has NO room to swim. Why not just get a fake fish. It wont be sad or feel mistreated. It will still look pretty and it will be about as active as a betta can be in the little cups they are being put in IMO.

I ABSOLUTELY DON'T THINK IT'S OK TO KEEP A BETTA UNHEATED OR IN LESS THAN 1 GALLON!
SURVIVAL IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE MINIMUM- IF YOU CHOOSE TO KEEP FISH YOU SHOULD KEEP THEM IN A MANNER THAT ALLOWS THEM TO PROSPER!

EMG, I hope this was someone else using your PC and not you typing that.
Um FEI my bettas are very active in their homes, they swim about non-stop, flaring, and such. they are very healthy and i know that eveyone on here is pretty much telling me that i suck at keeping my bettas happy, but i know different, i take a lot of pride in keeping my bettas happy, and they are, like i said before, i keep regular water changes, and the temperature is monitored, theres a light that keeps that water heated to an appropriate temperature, i just feel very offended that people keep telling me that i should move them, or that they arent happy, because they are.
