Aruwana Eat Mice.

It's completely unnecessary. So is feeding live fish.
People can use the "natural" argument until they're blue in the face but it's irrelevant. Last time I checked keeping fish in a tank is about as far from natural as it gets.

Could not of said it better....

Who cares if the owner feeds alive or dead...last time I checked, it wasn't any of your videos that YOU posted of YOUR fish. Get over it.

Just what is everyone's problem? Stop being such childish little girls. Do you think that all of these predatory fish in the wild eat pre-killed prey in the wild? That some almighty and omnipresent being just drops humanely killed prey into the waters of the wild????

I hate to argue about this topic, but you are missing the whole point that some are trying to make. "In the wild" is much different from in your tank. In the wild, if the fish are able to catch prey, it is because they worked long and hard and were able to use their predatory skills while the prey more than likely had a chance to escape. "In the wild," prey gets away from the predator at much higher rates. At home, you are the one that controls the outcome here. The mouse fed in the video had no means to try and escape from the tank, therefore it was more or less torture for the mouse and a quite easy meal for the arrowana. WHERE'S THE "WILD" IN THAT?

I am not saying that you shouldn't feed live things to your fish. That is your choice and nobody can infringe on that. I just don't think that it is right to film this kind of behavior and label it as, "well they do this in the wild." I know they do, but your tank is not the wild and the mouse/whatever being fed does not have an equal opportunity to fight for its life. For some reason, people who make videos of live feeding just do not understand this. The situation is not natural and would be much better if people would stop filming these killings. Feed whatever you want to your fish, just don't tape it

So if I understand this correctly, feeding a live
domesticated mouse to a captive predatory animal is being mature?.

I can't believe this thread is still 'live'
lol
so..some people think it's ok to feed live critters and some feel it's wrong.

such is life.

You know how people just go to sleep and die when they have a CO2 leak in their house? They are not dying terrified with a giant fish latched on to them, with water gushing into their lungs every time they try to desperately get a breathe or air, right?

Kristina
The only people that would probably go to sleep and die of CO2(Carbon Dioxide) are people on submarines and spaceships. You are think of CO(carbon Monoxide).... But provided oxygen levels are high enough and CO2 levels are high I think think mouse(or human) would die without pain.

It's just the "Hollowweenie" season that's calling out all these snuff pics. Hopefullllly they'll go away after that's over. But I agree the best way to get rid of this type of post is to not respond and just let it die a quick quiet death.
