up to a few years ago I used to do custom and high powered car audio systems. My systems were built for sound quality as well as being musical. Not these bump, bump, rattle traps that we hear at a stop light or rattling down the road. Some of the systems were upward of anywhere from 5,000 - 10,000 watts. With the high powered systems generally there was less chance of blowing amp and speakers because the system would not normally be driven at full volume like a lesser powered system. So.....
