Asolene spixi shipping?

Chaz, that's still illegal. Restricted species can not be transported across state lines in ANY way, not by air, car, mail, delivery service, by foot or any other methods. Pennsylvania snails must stay Pennsylvania residents. That goes for any other state as well. Believe me, there were canas right across the border in Baltimore, and if it hadn't been illegal, hubby and I would have had to make a trip to the Aquarium and a side trip to pick up more canas. :/
That's why we simply have to make sure that we obtain our snails legally and don't let them die out.

lol it's illegal to buy liquer from delaware where there is no tax and transport that but i gurentee u won't get stopped and searched for transporting snails!

In my opinion, it shouldn't matter whether you think you will get caught or not. If it's against the law, then it's against the law, and i would advise the OP not to take the above advice.

Eh, I pride myself in keeping only legally obtained snails. Sure, they're harder to find and obtain, but, once you have them, it just makes it that much more worth it. Makes you really appreciate them. :) Besides, you'd be surprised, just because you don't get caught during the actual transport of them over lines, you can still get nailed a few months down the road if you cannot prove that they're legal.

Hey, this all made me think of something. What if you legally obtained your snails (had proof and everything) but had to move to another state/country/etc. What happens then? Are you forced to re-home or destroy your pets or is there a protective claus or something to protect those who were legally abiding beforehand?

Unfortunately, they cannot be moved across state lines, period. In that situation, it really sucks, but, you've got to do what you've got to do. Granted, if you had ONE pet snail that you've had for a year and is about to die of old age, I wouldn't cull it off (just my personal opinion, I don't suggest others do this). But, I certainly wouldn't move a breeding colony, fertile eggs, a fertilized female, plants with possible eggs, etc, etc. And, I most definately wouldn't obtain random snails over the state border just because I really wanted them. There are a lot of things in life that I really want (like a larger number in my bank account for one, lol) that I simply don't have, and simply won't break the law to obtain.

illegal actions will not be tolerated on AC. the usda does watch whats going on and has a increased rate of knocking on peoples doors in the last year or so.

Well, that sucks. It was just an idle thought since I remembered all the paperwork I had to pick up from a few of the Consulates in NYC to review for some of my pets when I move to Europe in the next few years. I get permits/etc for things I already own but couldn't have over there legally had I bought them after I moved. Guess it's one of those, too bad there isn't something similar things.

And yea, being a military brat, I know better than to tempt the government with illegal activities (for I assure you, the government can be EVIL... well, okay "evil" is a strong word, but you know what I mean). And I suspect even something small like that would get me into worse trouble than most for just the military background alone... I'd have enlisted family coming at me from all directions for that nonsense, haha.

(...besides, if I'm going to do something illegal... it's not going to be crossing state lines for snails. Keep an eye out for my "new" Ferrari instead and uh, if the police ask, I was never here! j/k)
