Okay I have about 20 adult assassins for sale. Quite a few are breeding pairs.

Price will be $5 per snail plus $5 for shipping up to 6 snails US only. International please contact me.

These will not be shipped with heat packs they will be packed in a PVC tube with filter floss to keep them moist. I just shipped to PA so all the way across the country with no losses so that tells me that the weather is warm enough for this method to work now.

These are not wild caught, but are first generation tank raised Assassins that love Ramshorns as a first choice of food. It also is the reason for the increase in price since these snails are pretty slow growers and took a lot of pest snails to get to this stage. Below you will find some pictures showing how effective they are and the stripe pattern of these snails. I have also been keeping them with nerites for 2 months now with no losses but I do not say that they will leave them alone.

Please keep in mind to not release these into the wild they could become an invasive species in some areas of our country and the world.

This is a picture of a wild caught parent, which shows the stripe pattern of the youngsters.

Here are pics of 3 spots in the tank so you can see how effective they are at snail removal of snails 1/2 their size to 1/2 again bigger than they are. Every shell you see is empty except for the one small assassin buried in the middle of the second picture.... :D

Will ship on the Monday or Tuesday after reciving payment priority mail with dev. confirmation.

Funny thing is that that is only 6 months worth of snails and the entire bottom of the tank looks like that.:lipssealedsmilie:

I leave them because it helps buffer the water and is an extra source of calcium and minerals. Plus because of the color of the gravel you don't really realize they are there in a casual glance and it would be a real pain to get to most of them as the tank is well planted.

This is also my 29 gallon junk/grow out tank so I don't really care what it really looks like just that things are doing well and the critters are happy. When I replace it with the 34 and make it more of a show tank I might pull them out. Although I haven't pulled them out of my 15 gallon show tank either, even though it has FBS, and they stick out like a sore thumb, because of the buffering and mineral addition. If I get too many in there I probably will.

Guess you could say I'm more of a naturalist on my tanks I usually let nature run it's course until something comes way out of whack.

Still 20 left
