So I found these two snails too night in my in my 30 gallon breeder. We where already setting up a 10 gallon for our big snail, since we recently found out our mystery snail is really an apple snail. And from what we know about apple's the eat plants...so he got re homed into a 10 gallon we had.

Ok back to the topic at hand, I added these to the 10 with our big snail. 1 hour later one was riding the others shell and the bottom one was violently twisting back in forth...I don't know if this was mating or if they are infact assassin snails and trying to take each other out...either way I love our big snail and don't want any harm done to him. Can you guys help me identify these snails and explain why their behavior?

From your live plants probably. I have them in one tank. You can just smash them against the glass and most fish will eat them. My guppies do even.

The violent twisting I've actually watched recently on my mystery snails I wondered if he was trying to kill the other! It was weird. But then they all laid a ton of clutches of eggs, so I'm guessing breeding.

LOL if that is what they where doing, I bet I made them feel like a pair of teenagers who got caught.

I will most definitely remove them, I really don't want a snail invasion. thanks everyone!!!
