At what age or size do Kenyi sexually mature?

I was wondering at what size, or age will my cichlids sexually mature? I am particularly interested in the Kenyi. I currently have what I think maybe 3 females and 1 male. Three blues and 1 yellow. The largest female maybe 1.5-2.0 inches. The male is only about 1.0-1.5 inches. I would really appreciate any feedback, or even a link.

One more question.

Has anyone here had a fish burned by a submersible heater? I have this fear that if I use mine, that one of my fish will get too close, or actually touch the heater and get burned!! Anyway, thanks again.

Don't know about the age, but my kennyi have become active about the time the males turned yellow. I'd guess once they're about 2" or so is when they've started having babies.

Mine have been terribly prolific... in fact, I'm trying to rid my 180 office tank of all of them, because they're overrunning the tank with all their fry (who grow up to become big kennyi!). Given good conditions, they should breed readily.

I think my female was ready at about 3." She may have taken longer because there are no males in the tank. I finally got ahold of a male for her, but he needs to grow. He just started turning yellow 2 weeks ago at about 1.5."
