Right now my fish are healing from a disease in my 55 gallon. Most of the rocks have been removed due to me needing to fish out bodies but that's all over now. In a few days I'll be putting the rocks back in. SInce I don't have many fish left I'm thinking about thinning out my group of haras. The group is pretty big and the dominant male has been established. He has been breeding as well. The fish range from 3" to 2" some maybe smaller. I'm wondering if the bigger fish are large enough to vent? If I have enough females (4-5) from the group of larger fish I may just go ahead and remove the smaller ones and call it a day. I know eventually I am going to have to vent all my haras and remove extra males. Now just seems like a good opputunity.
Also I could use some links on venting to help with the process a bit.

I know how you feel with the disease. It sucks big time.

At 3", I think you should be able to vent.

Its tough especially the whole QT selection and med process. I finally go tired and started treating my entire tank with pod medications and it worked better then trying to chase down the disease one fish at a time. Since dosing with just 1 tablet and using a UV sterilizer I haven't had a problem in months, but then thats just my situation no everyone's.

I know its a hard thing to invest so much of yourself and have it go bad to not fault of your own, its happened to me many a time in life. Sorry

The disease is gone. I treated the main tank and now their wounds are healing. I'm doing another treatment just to be 100% sure. I don't think a UV sterilizer would have helped much.

But I'm over it. I'll be ordering online in a month or so and will be replacing the fish I lost then.
