Keep those science links coming - thanks 125gJoe :)

Yeah, except that there is a massive problem with using hydrogen cells as a renewable energy source- strip mining.

Apparently, as the technology stands now, you need lots of specific metals, including platinum to build the cells properly. There was a great article in the NY Times Magazine about a year ago on how the US government has contracted out all of the research level strip mining to a Russian company with the worst environmental record in the world- and where are they planning to do this mining? Montana. (and all facilitated by James Baker. Thanks again, Jimmy).

There was a great segment on renewable energy on Scientific American with Alan Alda (PBS). Check it out if you can catch a rerun. Tons of cool stuff. Icelandic thermo energy looks fantastic. Also, there is actually a project at MIT where they use our nemesis, green water, as well as nitrifying bacteria to purify smokestack emissions. They're still working out how to recycle that energy...leaves me thinking that maybe I can get a government research grant on my next planted tank.

I don't have the link/info now, but there was something to do with "windmills and Hydrogen production that seemed "very" interesting...
