After doing quite a bit of research into bettas and the requirements for their water conditions, I have decided to buy Novaqua and Amquel and use a combination of both for the water in my 2.5 gallon aquarium w/ whisper filter. However, I came across a product called Attison's Betta Spa and have gotten many recommendations that I use this product as well. I am considering buying it, but I worry that adding that to the Novaqua+Amquel recipe will be overkill for the betta I have yet to purchase (making sure I have everything ready first), especially since I have also thought of using a little Bettazing as a disease preventative upon the arrival of the fish. Am I just adding too much stuff, or is there a way I can combine Novaqua/Amquel/Betta Spa in such a way that it won't cause any problems?

For those unfamiliar with the product, here's a link:

Thank you so much in advance for any assistance, as it would be much appreciated for a newbie such as myself.

You dont need it... Large volume regular water changes are the key to good health with all fish, not only Bettas... It contains Ketapang, that many swear helps to induce spawning...It looks similar to a product called "black water extract"...Never did didly for me mind you..Stick with the Nova and Ama and you will be fine.

P.S. It will turn you water brown.

lol cool.. i never heard about that

Thanks so much! So essentially Betta Spa is just a sort of spanish fly for bettas. Meh; my gut reaction is to basically not bother with anything beyond the basics until I know what I'm doing anyway. ;)
